Age Levels and Descriptions

The K-2 program will run on Saturday mornings from January 6 through February 17. Players will use smaller-sized basketballs and play on a (rim) height appropriate to their ability levels. The focus is strictly on skill development, learning self-control, basic fundamentals and having fun. Participants will receive a t-shirt as part of their registration. We ask that they come to practice with a water bottle, clean sneakers and a positive and willing-to-try attitude. We cap each grade at 20 participants each and meet for 45 minutes.

Grades 3-4 boys and girls are placed on teams and play against other teams from the Seacoast Coop League, which includes Nottingham, Epping, Oyster River Youth Association. Grades 3-4 practice two nights a week in Strafford with games on Saturdays from January 6 through February 17. This league plays 3v3 on 8’ hoops. Practices will start mid November in Strafford at the school or the NH Guard site.

Grades 5-6 boys and girls are placed on teams and play other teams from the Southeastern NH Recreational Basketball League, which includes Barrington, Deerfield, Northwood, Nottingham and Oyster River Youth Association. Grades 5-6 practice two nights a week in Strafford or at Coe Brown in Gerrish Gym. Games will be on Saturdays from January 6 through February 17. This league plays 5v5 on 10’ hoops. Practices will start mid November at Strafford School, Coe Brown, or the NH Guard site.
